I took a long walk today for walk #5. I walked 8.93 miles. I enjoyed the beautiful weather, my music, and the scenery as I strolled past. Have you ever heard the expression, step on a crack and you'll break your mother's back? Well, I'm here to tell you it isn't stepping on a crack that's a bad thing, it's tripping over one. I tripped on a crack in the sidewalk, and it propelled my body into a slow motion, only seen in the movies, fly thorough the air, type of deal. I stopped my fall by grabbing a wall that paralleled the sidewalk. I'm sure people driving by thought I was a totally freak. If you can believe it, the only thing I hurt was my butt muscle--I slightly pulled it. Ouch!
I managed to snap a few pictures today... See the train? As I was walking over a bridge I noticed that a very long train was rumbling past beneath me. I stopped to look, and stood in awe for a few moments because of how cool it looked. I finally snapped back to reality when I thought how I must have looked to someone driving by. "Watch out! We have a jumper!" LOL...I moved away from the edge and kept on walking!
When I was almost home, I walked past a guy that was coming out of a store. He saw me and said, "Hey, you went a long way. I seen you 'cross town." I smiled and asked,"where did you see me?" His reply, "clear 'cross town." Okay...that tells me a lot.
