Walk # 3

Walk #3 was more like a "ride & walk" rather than a pure walk, but a walk is still a walk, at least in my book! I rode my bike for 24 1/2 miles, riding both the Western Maryland Rail Trail and the
C & O Canal Towpath. The walking part first came in when I needed my first "butt break". At the 12 mile mark, I got off the bike and walked 1/4 of a mile down the path (pushing my bike), and ended up at the Sideling Hill Creek Aqueduct. After we looped back and finished our ride, I walked a 1/2 mile to the Park n' Dine restaurant while Tom put the bikes on the Jeep. It felt good to walk after our ride, because I was able to really stretch my muscles.

Downloaded Walking Song for the Day: "Ben" by Michael Jackson. Today was his memorial service. I had never heard this song before and I found it on YouTube as I was skimming around and listening to some of his songs. The song absolutely blew me away. I think he sang it when he was about 13 or 14 years old. It's really beautiful, and if you can believe it, it's about a pet rat!
